Chapter 1

In August, the sun was still up in the sky when the rain suddenly poured.

There was a lot of water on the side of the road, and when a car passed by, the dirty water splashed around the wheels.

Sandy was holding lemonade, frowning her eyebrows and looking outside from time to time.

She is waiting for someone.

She wore a very conservative professional suit, with her long curly hair falling on her shoulders, the corners of which were slightly wet.

Almost an hour had passed since the agreed time, and her face gradually became ugly. Her lips were pursed, so she took her bag and prepared to leave.

As soon as she got up, she heard footsteps.

"I'm sorry, Miss Sandy, for making you wait for a long time."

It was a middle-aged man in his forties with a blessed face and slightly convex belly. He seemed gentle and harmless when he smiled, but his small eyes were full of shrewdness.

As soon as Sandy turned around, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes. He seemed to throw a newspaper aside at random and sighed, "The weather is unpredictable. It suddenly rained, so there was a traffic jam on the road for more than an hour. Was it raining when you came?"

Sandy glanced at him. There was no trace of being wet by the rain, so she just changed the subject.

"Manager Liam, I have an appointment with you today because I want to talk to you about the cooperation on the Galaxy Bay project. We are willing to reduce it by two percentage points. As for the design draft, I will also personally get started."

A document was handed to Manager Liam. He squinted at Sandy for a while but did not pick it up and smiled, "Don't worry, Miss Sandy, or should I call you Mrs. Steves? Let's talk about something else first."

"What do you want to talk about?"

Manager Liam raised his eyebrows and suddenly looked at the newspaper on the side and said playfully, "If it weren't for someone to remind me, I wouldn't know that Miss Sandy is married. Does Mr. Steves know about it?"

Following Manager Liam's gaze, Sandy also saw the man on the front page of the entertainment newspaper.

Henry, a rising star in Junction City.

The actor who occupies almost half of Junction's entertainment news, her husband, at this moment, is kissing another woman hard.

Her heart seemed to be pinched, a little out of breath.

Sandy abruptly looked away and looked at Manager Liam, "These seem to have nothing to do with my work, Manager Liam..."

"Miss Sandy, don't change the subject." Manager Liam interrupted Sandy with a smile, but his eyes were full of deep meaning, "I just feel a pity for you. After all, you are so young. Why do you let yourself hang on a tree? Junction town has a lot of rising stars. Why don't you look for another one?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Sandy frowned and looked at the man in front of her. Although he looked at her with amazement and admiration in his eyes, she hadn't offended him. He shouldn't have any other thoughts about her.

"Manager, you're here today but don't plan to talk to me about the project, right?" Sandy pursed her lips and asked.

Manager Liam smiled and replied, "You guessed it right. Today, I really didn't come to talk about the project with you."

Sandy was taken aback and then stood up, "In that case, I'm sorry to have bothered you."

She took her bag, got up, and left without hesitation.

Manager Liam looked at her crisp back and thought of the phone call before coming. He didn't want to offend someone and be troubled by that person. He said helplessly, "The reason I was an hour late today is because of General Lucas. The Galaxy Bay project has been acquired. If you want to talk about it in the future, you'll have to go to him."

Sandy paused before leaving.

Manager Liam squinted his eyes and watched her gradually disappear at the entrance of the coffee shop. The dull professional suit did not conceal Sandy's perfect figure. Coupled with such a beautiful face, it's no wonder that person is obsessed with her.

Manager Liam was speechless.

It was still raining outside, and Sandy walked directly under the rain without even thinking about it.

She had followed the Galaxy Bay project for nearly two months, but there was still no result. Her mother-in-law had been talking about it in her ear for a long time.

Now that it is suddenly acquired, does she still have a chance?

In her mind, the passionate and ambiguous scene in the newspaper just appeared suddenly, and Sandy clenched her hands tightly.

Today is their second wedding anniversary. Seeing the couple's movie tonight on the roadside, Sandy gritted her teeth and went in and bought two tickets.

It was five o'clock in the afternoon when she got home, and the nanny greeted her, "Ma'am, you are back."

"Yeah." Sandy nodded. Her gaze fell on the pair of black leather shoes in the hallway.

Fel smiled ambiguously, "Your husband went to play cards at Mrs. Wang's house next door. He just came back, holding a large handful of roses, and asked you to go to his study room when you came back."

Sandy was stunned.

"Ah! What happened? Why are you all wet? Go upstairs and take a hot bath."

Fel noticed that Sandy was wet all over.

Sandy nodded and went upstairs.

When she passed Henry's study room, she subconsciously paused, then closed her eyes and walked on.

After showering in a hurry, Sandy deliberately put aside the meticulous work clothes and wore a light blue knee-length dress.

She still remembers that Henry said she looked good in blue, so she wore sky blue that looked like the clear sky.
