01: Him
Sebastian Greenfield.
That's the only thing Killian has been hearing since last night and the person who is talking about Sebastian Greenfield is none other than his sister.
Now, Andrea Price is anything but a fangirl. It's easier to find her in a ring wrestling with someone than to have heart eyes for random boys, at least, that's how she has always been till now. He is baffled at this new side of his sister. However, there is another feeling that is overpowering all of his senses. Annoyance. He is annoyed beyond limit by now, wanting Andrea to stop talking about that boy already.
They have always had each other's back. Whether it was to save each other's ass after stealing candies when they were kids or have heart to heart conversation when one of them hits a low. No wonder Andrea is pouring her heart out and rambling about her first ever teenage crush, hoping her brother will understand her sentiment. Despite this, disappointment arises as soon as she hears her brother speaking.
"Yeah, alright. I get it. He is the most beautiful, cute, handsome and adorable person you have even seen. But you see, my not so adorable sister, what the fuck it has to do with me? Why are you making my ears bleed?" Killian finally voices out his annoyance.
From the corner of his eyes, he sees her nostrils flaring in anger. He makes distance between himself and his sister when he catches her moving her arm to hit him rather than folding her clothes clumsily.
"I'm sharing stuff with you, idiot. Act like a supportive sibling and listen to me." She huffs out, throwing a T-shirt to her brother's face.
"This shit stinks." Killian rather says, scrunching his nose in disgust.
Having seen his sister throwing her clothes into the suitcase rather than folding them properly, he gets up from the bed and goes around her.
"Go away. I don't need your help. You can't even listen to me." Andrea complains, making her brother chuckle.
"As if you didn't give me a headache already with your non-stop chatterings." Killian argues back, making her sit on the bed while he takes charge to do the packing.
"It's the first time, brother. I don't know why I feel this way." Andrea shares her thoughts with her brother.
"Do you really like that boy so much?" Killian arches an eyebrow, despite knowing the answer already.
Killian doesn't know what to say when his sister nods her head. Did his virus finally catch his sister? He is known for sleeping around, his sister was further away from that and he hoped it would stay that way. Call it a brother's concern for the only person he truly cares about in the whole world.
"Damn, that's some unlucky son of a bitch that he caught your eyes." He receives an eye roll as a reply.
"Tell me one thing. How long have you known him for?" Killian asks, having been done with the packing.
Andrea thinks for a while and then she replies, "4 days."
"And you are already head over heels for him?" He watches his sister in disbelief.
Andrea can't name this feeling. Being surprised will be an understatement, she is astonished by her own act. She took an oath of being a tomboy and stayed away from boys all her life, seeing her mother suffer enough. It was never in her plan to date someone ever. However, this boy has something in him that draws her in. Maybe it's the innocence he radiates around himself, maybe it's his adorable smile that he spares at the customers in the local waffle House where he works. She had the luck to witness it on her own. Having been at the receiving end of his electrifying smile, she developed a crush immediately.
Butterflies made their humble abode in her stomach whenever she caught a glimpse of him. Is that how one feels when they like someone? It would be a lie if she says she has never been attracted to anyone. She has liked one too many boys in her life but none of them made her feel this way. It was beyond her how dimples could make someone so cute, how could someone's smile be so contagious.
Andrea believes it takes time to actually like someone and there lies the difference between feeling attracted and liking someone. She is well aware of that fact. It's his ethereal that draws her in but what further deepens her crush is the interaction she had with him. Although it's a single conversation, it was enough for her to determine that he is worth the emotions she has been feeling.
She wouldn't be so serious about him if he didn't go all out and help her in the grocery store last morning. She was hungry as hell but she spent all her money the night before while partying, her phone also ran out of battery which stopped her from contacting her brother. That's when her crush walked by her. It still seems like magic to her how managed to feel her distress and pay for her stuff. Not only that, he booked her a taxi and paid for that as well. When she tried to thank him, he blessed her with that smile of his, showcasing his perfect dimples.
It was a surprise just like a thunder out of the blue when she spotted him in her school. They live in a small town with only a few schools around. Therefore, it shouldn't be so surprising that he goes to the same school. Oh, but it was. How come she hadn't ever crossed paths with him in school before?
While doing a little stalking, she learnt that he is new to the school and that day he went to school just to collect his things and learn the way around the school.
"I want you to take care of him while I'm away." Andrea smiles while looking at her brother, knowing how absurd she sounds right now.
Killian furrows his eyebrows at her sudden demand, something doesn't seem to add up.
"You want me to babysit your boy toy?" He snorts out, shaking his head in disbelief.
"I don't keep toys like you, brother. He is a human, treat him like that. Considering that I like someone for the first time in my life, you should play Cupid and treat him with respect." Now it's time for Killian to roll his eyes.
"Of course, my dear older sister. I'm even planning your wedding in my head. Gotta respect the man who will be having babies with my sister." Andrea burst into a fit of laughter at that.
"Now now, little brother, don't run your imagination so wild."
"Tell me one thing, how can a girl like you have a crush on a guy like him? The way you described him, he sounds like a nerd."
Andrea is not less than an angry bird, ready to punch anyone who dares to come in her way, just like her brother. The way she has described the boy, he sounds anything but Andrea's type, that's the conclusion Killian has drawn.
"Opposite attracts, bro." She says, lighting up a cigarette.
"Let's see how long it lasts." He mutters to himself, taking the cigarette from her grasp and taking a drag.
"And taking care of him means you have to make sure no one bullies him, I will break their bones. And yeah, collect all the information about him. What he likes and what he dislikes, I need to know them all. I will have to change myself a bit, I guess."
Her words hit him harder than his puberty did. Andrea is giving one shocker after another. Change herself to fit into someone else's taste? That isn't something his sister ever will dream of. What changed? Certainly, a mere nerd can't have this effect on his sister.
"Andy, are you ok? Or it's an imposter in your body?" Killian dramatically gasps, pinching his sister's arm to make himself believe that he is indeed hearing right.
Her scream proves that he isn't dreaming. What follows is a smack on his head after his sudden attack.
"Stop being a dramatic bitch, you idiot. I'm serious."
Before they can engage themselves into a meaningless fight, they hear faint footsteps coming towards Andrea's room. They are still in their places. Killian quickly hides the half used cigarette under his shoe.
Usually, Killian wouldn't give two damn about his father catching them smoking but now things are different. He will play by the rules right now to be on the safe side considering Andrea is going away for 4 months to do social service as a punishment owing to the fact that she was driving under the influence and causing havoc on the road. Luckily no one was killed or majorly injured. However, it did manage to make their father strict and take control of the situation.
Andrea takes a packet of chewing gum and starts chewing on it while waiting for their father to knock on the door. She is not a big fan of him either. In fact, she is the one who hates their father the most. But she is aware that the fault was hers and she should be the one to compensate for it, she should be the one punished for it. That is why she is letting the man take control of the situation for the time being.
"Good morning, kids." Their father, Elias Price, greets them with a fond smile.
He meets with silence in return which dampens his bright smile he had earlier. He schools his facial features and brings on a neutral expression, masking the hurt.
"I made breakfast. Come, let's have it before we leave." The man offers his kids in a sweet tone, hoping they won't turn him down like always.
"I'm not hungry. You can have breakfast. We can leave after that." Andrea says, folding her hands across her chest, pulling on her most bored expression.
Elias sighs in defeat and then his eyes dart towards his younger child, "you?" He asks hopefully.
"I will have some at school." Killian informs, mirroring his sister's emotionless voice.
"Fine. Come down in five minutes, Andrea. Or else we will be late." And with that he leaves the room.
The siblings watch the hunched back of their father, retreating into the hallway.
"I will be taking my leave then, little brother." Andrea turns to her brother, face being as gloomy as ever.
"Don't miss me too much." Killian snorts at that.
"As if."
"Yeah yeah. Won't you give me a hug before I go?"
"Don't be so dramatic. You make it sound like you are going to a war or something." Andrea chuckles when his words contradict his action and he brings her into a bone crushing hug.
"Stay out of trouble there, alright? Don't go around and pick fights. You are in enough trouble already." Killian advises his sister, all while feeling like a hypocrite.
While he knows Andrea is at fault for whatever happened, he can't bring himself to accept the fact that he won't be able to see her for months. After the death of their mother, they have been pretty much glued to the hips, never leaving each other's sides. From hating their father to annoying that man, they did everything together.
"That applies to you too, little brother. Stay out of trouble while I'm away." Andrea mutters, emotions flowing from her voice.
They bid each other goodbye for a few minutes and in no time Andrea and Elias set out to go out of the city to the service center where Andrea has to stay for a few months to reflect on her behavior and help the community with different services.
When he is alone to his own devices, he thinks about what his sister last told him about the boy. He doesn't know anyone by that name but if his sister likes him he will see for himself if that boy is good enough.
Maybe today school won't be as boring as he imagined. He has a certain boy to scare off.
________________________
Killian Price does hold a reputation at his school and it's enough for the students to make way for him in the crowded hallway. Some admire him from afar while some curse under their breath. But today the staring that he is getting is more than usual.
Rumors find their ways, don't they? Everyone must know by now why Andrea isn't by her brother's side today. His one glance backwards is enough for those on the sideline to scatter around and move on in their ways. He is not the one to mess with and everyone in Milestone High is absolutely aware of that fact.
The fun part is that he has nothing to do with the bad reputation that he got for himself. He never bullied anyone, none that he is aware of. He only fought when someone crossed his path first or when someone tried to misbehave with his sister. People around here must know he won't hurt anyone who has done nothing bad for him. However, he knows what power he holds around here. The aura he radiates is enough to compel the other students to fear him. He is comfortable in his skin and that shows. No one can say they have seen the bad boy of Milestone High out of his element or have seen him under-confident. It's another thing that his sleeve tattoos scream trouble, it gives some weight to the rumor that he must be a part of the local gang or he is in the mafia. It's amusing to listen to such stuff about himself.
Some are jealous of him. They think that The Price siblings always have their ways because their uncle is the principal of the school. Killian can vouch for that theory though. His ass got saved many times just because his uncle runs the school. He gets a free pass to bunk school sometimes. So, the rumors aren't totally baseless.
"Killian! Here." He looks ahead to see his friend calling for him.
With big steps he reaches the little table where his friends are at. Having a tall frame of 6'4" and long legs come with advantages.
"Got anything new, dude?" His friend, Alex, says as soon as he reaches them.
Ignoring his question, he takes a seat on the vacant space. He takes his sweet time gulping down the whole bottle of cold water that his other friend, Nick, was holding. A string of curse words follows his action but he decides to pay no need to it.
"Do you have something or not?" Alex presses for answers again, being desperate.
"What with you being a desperate little bitch for weed early in the morning?" Oliver, Killian's other friend, rebukes from the other side of the table.
"Listen to him, Alex. He is a wise man." Killian snorts out, making Alex annoyed.
"You can never be straightforward and answer, can you?" Alex rolls his eyes when his annoyance reaches its peak.
"Dude, don't you see how Andy got in trouble recently? Dad is policing my every action. So, nope, I don't have any new kind of weed that you can snort." Killian finally answers, making Alex more disappointed than he already was.
Alex is the druggie of the group. Any kind of new drug in the market and he will jump in to try it out. Maybe his addiction has something to do with his drug addicted older brother. Sometimes, he gets out of hand and sometimes he feels euphoric even when he gets normal weed around to entertain himself.
He is definitely the one who introduced both Killian and Andrea to weeds. They are wise enough not to touch any other kind of drugs. Seeing Alex destroying his life is already enough. They have been pestering him to join a rehab for a while. If only he had time to listen to them.
"You know Alex, you should really give up on drugs. They are deteriorating your health. Can't you see that?" Oliver scolds the other boy again.
"Don't try to be my parent, Oli. I hate it." Alex argues, his voice indicates that his patience is running thin.
"Leave them. Wanna bunk and have fun today, Kill?" Nick suggests, face holding a mischievous look.
"Gotta babysit the new kid today. Will do it tomorrow if you are up for this." Killian replies, taking out a cigarette from his backpack.
There's no teachers around so he lights up one and starts smoking, gaining Oliver's undivided attention which he was showing to Alex earlier. Alex heaves a sigh in relief, having Oliver off of his tail.
"As if a druggie wasn't enough. Now do I have to handle a smoker too?" Oliver mutters, looking disappointed.
"Babysit the new kid?" Nick asks, ignoring a fuming Oliver who is asking Killian to drop his cigarette.
"Apparently, Andy has a major crush on the new kid. I don't know why though." Killian shrugs his shoulders and he finally throws away the cigarette, getting tired of Oliver's yelling.
"Happy?"
"Very."
It's easy to assume that Oliver is the mother hen of the group who can't tolerate anyone doing remotely wrong. His bad luck is that he is stuck with such friends who won't do anything but bad stuff.
"Ohh!" Nick suddenly yells when realization hits him, "You are talking about Sebastian Greenfield?"
"Damn. Is he that famous that you also know him?
"It's just that most girls at the school are talking about the boy who works at the local waffle house. His name is Sebastian Greenfield and everyone is having crush on him apparently. They say his smile is killing-"
"Yeah. I get it. He is the fucking angel in a human form now shut it." As if listening to praise songs of that boy from his sister wasn't already enough.
However, this makes him intrigued, he can't lie. What does that boy have that he is making heads turn? His smiles can't be the reason why people seem to be going crazy about him. Now, he needs to see it for himself. He has one person to meet today.
"Bell to the class, get going guys." Oliver suggests as soon as the bell rings.
"Really?" Alex retorts.
"Yes. That's what a bell is for, genius." Oliver replies.
"You are not a bad boy when you go to class on time."
Yeah, Alex can be a cringe sometimes. All three shoot him a weird look at this pathetic attempt to be the residential bad boy.
"What?" Alex asks in confusion.
"Get your angsty ass going, Alex."
Though Oliver manages to drag Alex with him towards their first class as they have it together, Killian makes a beeline towards the washroom. Luckily, Killian doesn't share most of his classes with Oliver, that goody two shoes is a pain in the ass.
Killian walks inside a stall and lights up a cigarette. He couldn't have his daily dose of these heavenly creatures because of his father and his stupid little friend. Now that he is alone in this little confined room, he can finally enjoy it without any disturbance.
When he is almost done with it, he gets a notification from someone. Someone has sent a link in the friend group.
Nick
Enjoy ;)
If it's from Nick then it can't be something sane. Being not able to handle his curiosity, he clicks on the link and within a second the sound of continuous moaning can be heard from his stall.
"This little shit." He curses under his breath, turning the volume down as it was at max.
He hopes no one is around here, he doesn't want to be embarrassed, not that anyone will dare to say anything on his face. Classes have already started so he doesn't expect anyone to be here in the first place.
"Dude, are you seriously watching porn right now?" Killian abruptly closes all the tabs on his phone, being surprised by the sudden voice.
"New to high school, dude?" Killian retorts, gaining his cool back after the initial shock.
"If your definition of high school is like this then yeah." He hears the other person say from the stall next to him.
Killian wants to argue back and burge into the stall to punch the boy but he has to control himself. He can't create problems for himself, at least not now.
"Whatever, weirdo." He mutters before leaving the stall, but not before glancing towards the door of the stall from where the stupid boy argued with him.
He will deal with him later. For now he will attend the class to be on the good side of his father. That man is smart. Killian knows him well enough. It needs no telling that he will be taking notice of his attendance and activities at the school.
"Mr.Price, You are late again. What's the excuse this time?" Mrs. Park, the English teacher, has her arms crossed while disappointment is imprinted on her face.
"Excuses are for cowards, Mrs.Park. I would like to say that I'm late because I was busy admiring some high quality art. You do know I love to indulge into Art and stuff. " He gives her a closed mouth smile after his little speech.
Mrs. Park doesn't argue with him anymore. He knows about her dirty laundry. He knows how she trades the library books for money and earns a fortune by it. That might be an exaggeration but it is indeed her extra source of income. She has smuggled a lot of books by now. Unluckily for her, Killian had caught her red handed one fine morning. He resorts to handling it by making a deal with her. He won't disclose her dirty little secret to anyone as long as she lets him do whatever he wants in the classroom.
With a smirk adorning his face, he enters the classroom and takes his usual seat which is situated at the last corner of the classroom, right beside the window.
"Now why are you late?" Killian can hear annoyance oozing from Mrs. Park's voice at the newcomer. He doesn't pay attention though. She is all bark and no bite. So, it's better to keep his attention on his phone.
"Sorry, ma'am. I'm a new student so it took a while to find my way to the class." Killian snaps his head towards the front of the room as soon as he hears the boy.
He almost forgot about his mission to meet the new boy. Here stands the boy with all his glory. He can't lie, the boy indeed looks beautiful, straight out of a fairytale. He can see the appeal. His voice is sweet yet deep at the same time. Girls will call it attractive. His full lips are pink to the point where girls will kill to have that color, that fullness of lips, his slightly curly brown hair is slightly gelled down, showing his shining forehead. But his most striking feature is his ocean blue eyes. Those eyes seem like it has been drawn by the finest artist of the world and afterlife combined, the shade of blue is something that can put all the shade of the same color to shame.
Killian can't control himself from staring at the boy who seems to be either unaware of the looks he is getting from the girls or he doesn't care about it at all.
Killian isn't a worshiper of beauty but he has to admit to himself that the boy is one of the finest specimens he has ever laid his eyes on. But is it enough for his sister to be head over heels for him? Albeit he has the beauty to charm even the soul of Satan, there should be another catch nonetheless. Oh, wouldn't Killian love to know more about him?
