What happens when a werewolf heiress exiled from her pack discovers her fated mate—a mysterious professor hiding his true identity—at a prestigious human university? Wolves of Nightingale combines the allure of dark academia, the intensity of forbidden love, and the grit of a revenge-fueled werewolf drama that will leave you breathless.
Plot
When the daughter of a powerful werewolf alpha is rejected by her pack, she finds sanctuary at the prestigious human university she’s been accepted to, only to discover that her Mythology and Folklore professor is not only a werewolf, but her fated mate.
What’s worse? The man wants nothing to do with her, the new student. Unbeknownst to her, more than twenty years ago, his pack fell victim to her father’s dark schemes, leaving her mate the only surviving heir to the late-alpha. When finding themselves in exile from werewolf society, both turned to the human world for some semblance of safety, but when they’re found out for what they are, they have little choice but to band together and reclaim their rightful place in werewolf society . . . by taking down her tyrant father for good.
AINSLEY LOVETT is the daughter of the Redmoon pack’s alpha, bound by her father’s dark legacy of domination and subjugation—despite most of Redmoon not being aware that their prosperity comes at the cost of the freedom of others. She’s the sole heir to her father’s tyranny—beloved by her people, but never quite measuring up in her father’s eyes. And, when her father finds out that Ainsley’s been accepted into an on-campus program at a prestigious human college, he rejects her, banishing her from the pack she once called home, disgracing the name he bestowed her.
As much of a shock as it is for Ainsley to be forced from the home she grew up in and estranged from the only family she has ever known, it’s almost a blessing to be free of her father and his controlling ways. Since she’d already earned a scholarship for on-campus study, she hopes to move into her dorm room, go to school, and find a job in the human world so that she can carve out a new life for herself and forget who she used to be.
But fate has other plans.
LIAM KURTIS is the mysterious, and oh-so-attractive Mythology professor at Nightingale University, but he’s more than just a brilliant educator, he’s a werewolf, living as a human following the unceremonious deaths of his parents and their pack at the hands of Redmoon pack’s alpha during a surprise assault on their packlands.
Liam was born to be his father’s heir, to be alpha of Moonshadow pack one day, but he wasn’t even eight years old when his family was slaughtered and the survivors of his pack were sworn into servitude in exchange for survival. Liam is only lucky that the nanny who cared for him was able to escape with him in tow, raising him as her own in the human world.
Liam’s made a good life for himself in the human world, successfully masking his true nature, but part of him can’t let go of what befell his family. He dreams of sneaking into Redmoon pack, challenging its alpha, and demanding justice for what was done to his people. But a lone wolf walking into an enemy pack? Even for a natural alpha, that would be suicide.
His past becomes unavoidable when the daughter of his boogeyman walks into his classroom . . . and he can tell instantly that she is his mate. The pull to protect her, be by her side, and love her is all too powerful, and he knows she feels the same, but he can’t let himself give in. How could he ever know if Ainsley’s loyalty to her tyrant father is stronger than the matebond? It’s not a risk Liam is willing to take.
At first, Liam does his best to keep her at arm’s length—believing that she must have been sent as her father’s assassin, and that their matebond is just a tragic accident of fate he’d be loathed to act on but when real assassins come from Redmoon to annihilate any chance Ainsley might have to return to reclaim her birthright as heir to Redmoon, Liam realizes that she’s not the villain in his story, and that they have a common enemy.
Realizing that they’ve got no reason to remain at odds with one another, Liam and Ainsley are free to explore the matebond and their love, but it isn’t all smooth sailing.
Liam plans to take the fight to Ainsley’s father, since having Ainsley by his side should give her pack pause and allow them to confront her father for his crimes, but Ainsley wants nothing to do with Redmoon, and nothing to do with the werewolf world that rejected her. She wants to live life as a human—she wants to live life with him.
All she wants is a peaceful life with her mate—the man she loves, and though it’s a source of strain in their relationship, he tries to let go of his need for justice. This gives them two secrets to hide, however. Not only are they hiding the fact that they’re werewolves, but the college has a strict policy against students and professors being in relationships.
But when the assassins expose the existence of werewolves, Liam and Ainsley must contend with hunters, drawn in by the carnage. Suddenly, the human world is no longer the safe haven it once was, and Ainsley is forced to admit that if she ever wants to stop running, she has no choice but to return to the very last place she wants to go: home.

Hot Chapters
Chapter Three
Liam can’t believe it—his fated mate. In the front row of his first class of the semester. Staring at him like a deer in headlights, just as he’s probably staring at her. But there’s no mistaking those ruby red eyes. His fated mate is Ainsley Lovett, the daughter of the man who massacred his pack.
Chapter Six
Liam’s words rattle Ainsley to her core. She never thought meeting her mate would end up like this—with him pinning her down and growling at her and threatening to kill her. Perhaps she’d been silly to romanticize meeting him one day, as all young wolves did when they were told the kinds of stories her grandmother used to tell her before bedtime. How can a wolf hate his own mate? Ainsley is determined to get to the bottom of it.
Main Themes
The novel primarily focuses on the theme of healing from past traumas, learning to trust again, and gaining the strength to tackle demons of the past head on. The story begins with the protagonist being exiled from her pack, only to come face to face with her fated mate, the son of an alpha whose pack her own father massacred. Ainsley and Liam must overcome the darkness of their past if they’re ever to have a future.
Writing Style
“Wolves of Nightingale” has a fast pace writing style that maintains exciting pacing without sacrificing beautiful description. The chapters have an explosive feel that delivers an immersive dark academia experience while also emphasizing the deeply romantic werewolf narrative.
Point of View
The novel is written in first person present tense, dual POV following both Ainsley and Liam as they navigate the complicated dynamics of their relationship and their past traumas. This allows the reader to follow along with both their consuming feelings for one another, and the personal struggles they face, both as werewolves living in the human world, and as a college professor and his student carrying out a secret relationship.
Conclusion
Will Liam’s hate for the Redmoon pack outweigh the pull of the matebond? Is Ainsley willing to risk her new life at Nightingale to have a relationship with her professor? Only by facing her father’s rejection did Ainsley meet her true mate, and only through letting his guard down and coming to understand her does Liam finally have the ability to confront the demons of his past. Despite their difficult beginning, Ainsley and Liam must join together to confront the past if they’re ever going to have any hope of living the peaceful life they crave.
