Chapter 59. The Apartment

A tall pale man about 6 ft tall walked out of the kitchen towards us. His words got stuck in his throat when he noticed there was someone other than Min Jun in the living room.

“Hey Mrs. Lee,” he greeted. “I’m Cheng,” He added and stretched his hand towards me. I looked at his long slender fingers and shook his hand.

“I’m Mei Xing,” I corrected.

“To what do I owe this visit?” he asked but the question seemed aimed at Min.

“Hmm Miss, I will go wait in the car,” Mr. Jiang said. He didn’t give me to chance to answer as his retreating body was already closing the door.

“Do you want to sit?” Cheng asked pointing towards the single chair in the living room. In the living room, there were two chairs. A three seater sofa than faced a 26 inch TV and the single chair that was placed awkwardly in the corner of the room.

“Thank you,” I said and opted to sit on the three seater chair. “Are you going to sit?” I asked Min.

“Let me get you something to drin
