As Patricia settled into bed, she gazed out at the mountains, feeling a sense of loneliness wash over her. She longed for the intimacy she shared with Stephano in the past few days, sleeping side by side. It was the first time in her life she had shared a bed with a man, and he had respected her wishes. "You're late."

"I think you tore my heart out. I waited for you at the church, and you were a no-show."

"You were so sure of yourself, you probably bet your mother I'd be there until 9:59 AM.
