Chapter 44
POV: Jaewon
I return to the kitchen to put away the groceries we bought, and before finishing organizing one of Harin’s cabinets, I’m startled when I see him standing next to me.
“I’m done already.”
“Already?” I approach and am surprised to find the bowl without a drop of sauce or a piece of apple. “Wow, you really wanted to eat that.”
“I did, and thanks to you, I’m satisfied now.”
Harin smiles, but he approaches and pouts. Even though the strong smell of fish sauce still emanates from his mouth, I don’t refuse the kiss he wants to give me, and I melt when I feel him hugging me around the waist again, completely affectionate.
“What’s that?” He steps back, approaching the cake. “Oh, a note?”
“Yeah, Mom sent it to you.”
Harin unfolds the pink post-it note and reads it carefully.
“It says: for Harin.” He counts, pointing and smiling. “She knows my name?”
“I told her. I told her everything about us.”
“Everything?”
