After spending the entire night attempting to focus on my schoolwork while Xavier and Steve left together, I was disheartened to discover that my efforts were in vain. I couldn't concentrate on anything, and it felt pointless trying to absorb the information so I finally gave up.

Releasing a frustrated sigh, probably the millionth I had let out that evening, I made my way to the kitchen, hoping to create a sandwich or something simple. Perhaps if I ate something, my stomach would stop feeling as if it were tumbling and rolling uncontrollably down a mountainside.
