“This is the first time the Alphas have ever summoned a specific maid. They usually ignore everyone here, but this time they asked for you!” Lora said as we walked down the hall of the packhouse, her voice light and cheerful, as though she were speaking to an old friend. No hint of hostility unlike the other maids who passed by, shooting me sharp glares.

I ignored them, keeping my expression blank, though inside I was nervous. My palms were sweaty, my hands trembling at my sides. As we walked, my thoughts spiraled.
