If I can forgive you, then I will but if I can't, prepare yourself for whatever will come your way.” He gestures for me to stand up, signaling the end of our conversation. “Go,” he tells me. “Think about what I’ve said. And know that no matter what, I’ll always be grateful to you.”
I get up from the chair, still reeling from our conversation. As I turn to leave, I catch a small, sinister smile on his face, and I know that everything wouldn't be all right. It can never be alright. Walking out of the room, I take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief, just for the moment. I’m still scared, but that fear is triggered by the knowledge that I’ve done the right thing for myself, but it turned out to hurt my mate so much, the rude Alpha who doesn't spare anyone.
