“Are you two okay? How’s your talk with her?” Brent pried after he assists Chew and Kiara in the registration table.

“Mind your business, beta.” I groaned.

My eyes never once left Lucianna ever since she moved a step away from me. I’ve watched her interact with people and continuously mesmerized by her. She was serious in lecturing her co-female fighters, lively while with acquaintances and powerful as she stands alone when no one approaches her.

I think I know why she has no friends back at her pack. It was not because she was orphaned, nor pitiful. Those people were intimidated because she managed to live and stand even though she was alone.

And those who denied her were idiots.
