The night air was biting against my skin, the chill carving its way through the fabric of my jacket, but I barely noticed. All I saw was her.

Storming down the long, curved hallway, her shoulders trembling as she wiped furiously at her face. I’d never seen her like that, shattered. Not angry. Not annoyed. Not rolling her eyes or cursing me out like anyone would. She was hurt.
