My heart raced as I studied Melissa’s face.

She looked terrified—her eyes constantly scanning our surroundings as if expecting Alpha Foster’s enforcers to appear at any moment.

“What is it, Melissa?” I asked, keeping my voice steady despite the anxiety twisting in my chest.

“That he’s planning something against the Blackwood Pack. Against you and Alpha Alexander.” Her voice broke. “I couldn’t stay silent. Not after how kind you always were to me.”
