Chapter 17

Gabby’s POV

I knew she was trying to avoid the conversation. There was a brief silence at the table, no one saying anything and from the look on Aiden and Helena’s faces, I could tell that they were mind linking. My stomach growled embarrassingly disrupting the silence and Aiden sent me a glare. I hid my head in shame.

“Oh, we have a hungry one.” The beta snorted, “Shall we eat?” She said clapping her hands and servants began to swim in coming our sides to help us in dishing the food.

Before they could get to us, a soft wind blew and a bright light shone following the sudden appearance of someone in the room. I jumped in shock but other members of the table seemed unfazed as if it was a regular occurrence. The person that came in was a male. He was dressed in a white garment and wore a golden band on his head which shone brightly. In his hand he held a scroll.

“Your Highness.” He bowed towards Aiden, “Sorry for the intrusion but this is an emergency.”
