But Virginia seemed to be a nervous wreck, and I understood that this was not something normal for her. I remembered the girl I had met at the nightclub and who had made sure to do her part in that crazy auction we had gotten into, and how wonderful and special the night we had spent together had been.

That was the Virginia I had fallen in love with, and I was sure that she was that girl and not the woman who seemed to come and go and not know what she wanted.

"I'll help you get ready, and we'll go to your appointment with the doctor " I spoke in a tone that left no room for questioning on her part " You are very tense and nervous, and this is not doing you any good.
