It had been a busy day, but I was thankful that I had managed to get my father to go back on his convictions and come to me, along with my mother. I was now at peace with my family and assured them that they were in their home and that all was well between us.

I was now rubbing almond oil on my stomach, standing in front of the bathroom mirror, and reflecting on how much things could change in just a snap of my fingers.

I had left the bathroom door open and at that moment Murilo had just walked through it and was staring at me through the mirror with apparent suspicion.

"Are we okay? " he asked.

"I don't know about you, but I'm fine, " I answered with a smile.

He stood behind me and took the bottle of oil and put some in the palm of his hand.

"What do you intend to do?”

"I intend to take care of my brunette " he replied, facing me again through the reflection in the mirror.
