Chapter 25. Vagabond

Tears began to roll down my cheeks. I opened my mouth to speak and plead with him, but nothing came out.
I passed my gaze to Venus, an innocent girl. She needed to be saved from this monster! For now, I had to find a way to save myself.
Kill Claudius? A whole Claudius? God no!
“Sheesh, off you go, barbarian. I expect results by morning since we leave for Rome tomorrow. Understood?”
I nodded slowly, my teeth clattering as a sudden cold sensation swept through me. Will these be my last hours on earth? I wondered as I took a long stare at the bottle before tucking it away.

The night was stale, the hot breeze sweeping by at intervals and causing more heat on my skin as I strolled toward General Claudius’ tent with my legs quivering. As soon as I reached the entrance of his enormous tent, I took a deep breath, making a mental note to keep calm lest my head fell off before I had a chance to execute my plight.
