Chapter 20. Nothing Left Between Us

Adeline's POV

I sat under the shower, still with clothes, letting the water soak me. My hairs wet and stuck to my body. The water was cold maybe too cold for my body but the pain in my heart did not let me feel anything.

I stared at my hands and saw how pale they had turned. I slowly blinked and laid my head against the wall before hot water steamed down my cheeks.

I was crying. Why?

Because I could not bear the pain. How could he such a bastard for doing the least thing I expected from him.

I whispered painfully before screaming loudly. My heart ached realizing I was not the woman he loved. No matter how much I tried, he would never love me so there was no point.

There was a sudden bang on the door. I gasped and looked at the direction of the door but did not bother answering. I did not want to see anyone and explain my state.

I was on numb and too tired.
