Chapter 220. Herodias and Antipas
Both cops beside the police chief sprang up. “Mr Fletcher, you cannot be here.” They said simultaneously, like it had been rehearsed.
“Her attorney says interrogation is done.” Colt walked further into the room, stopping beside me. “I wondered what was taking so long."
The police chief turned to Ben, who nodded, but a quick glance at him and I could tell that he had not texted Colt.
“May I leave?” I asked, and the police chief relaxed into his seat with a thoughtful smile. “Sure, Mrs Fletcher.”
Colt and I exited the room, not touching.
“What was that about?” he asked as soon as we left the building, walking down the aisle the guards had created, straining to keep the press away.
“Wilder knows about the Gyehna’s bounty, and just now, he appeared to be in urgent need of a hundred million.”
Colt’s eyes narrowed into furious slits as he pulled my door open.
