Chapter 69. One Last Time

“You can’t come in with me,” I said, when Colt pulled into the garage.

“Dean knows we were together last night.”

I stopped, “What is going on, Colt? Are you brothers enemies or not?”

“What?” He took his seatbelt off, and turned to me. 

“You have been defending him for the last ten minutes. You told me you talked when I thought you both probably didn’t even have each other’s contact, and now he knows I was with you?”

I grimaced, “I feel foolish.” 

He said nothing as I unbuckled my seatbelt. 

It was a good thing I was ending what I had with him anyway. Whatever this dance between the brothers was, I was not built for it.

Colt grabbed my hand before I touched the door. “Why don’t you understand that Dean is very aware of US?”

“So you chose to call him last night and give him details of the good news?”
