The Ledger HQ atrium shimmered with morning light. Glass-paneled walls threw reflections like data signals refracted across the floor. Above the entrance, the plaque glinted: TRANSPARENCY STARTS HERE.
Harper stepped inside, her presence slicing through the corridor like a blade of calm intention. Knox walked just behind her, navy suit crisp, fingers brushing against hers for the briefest of moments.

In the press conference room, reporters bristled like antennae—wires snaked across the floor, light rigs blasted white heat, and every seat buzzed with tension. Harper adjusted her cuffs, the ribbon beneath her sleeve pressed against her wrist like a secret vow.
