They both looked up and down at me. “I see. You’re such a beautiful girl. No wonder my son is going crazy about you.”
I blinked, not expecting them to say that.
Ajax’s father then smiled at me. “I heard Ramirez’s tech is going downhill. And with your father’s death…who would let it bloom?”
Insulting me in my own home?
Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me and I could see my mother coming closer, “Mr. and Mrs. Sillas, I do not want to tolerate you insulting my daughter in my own home.”
“Oh, sorry about that, how silly of me, speaking that to a widow.”
“I believe you need to go home. You’re disrupting my family.” My mother said, standing still.
Ajax’s mother smiled gently, “Yes, we will if she will control our son-“
“I believe I have to refuse that. Ajax is your son, he is not my responsibility.” I said, grabbing my mother’s hand for support.
