Chapter 118. Tough, Yet Calming
“I’m… I’m here…” I try to say, but my voice reaches no where.
Thankfully, a hand grazes my arm. Then the same hand slides behind my knees as another snakes around the back of my waist before lifting me up.
My body moves, but I don’t know what destination in particular. All I know is that soon I could finally breathe in fresh air, and the sound of sirens cuts through the disorder.
“You are okay now, baby,” someone whispers close to me, and I open my eyes to find it’s Zeath. He is the one carrying me.
“Zeath…?” I croak out, my throat painful.
“My love, you are okay now. I’m here. The police saw the smoke and came. They have got Saltusa and are tackling both armies.”
My body goes down. Then I feel my back touch the ground as Zeath sets me carefully on it before lying beside me.
