“Umm, I…I don’t get it?” Alexis stammered with uncertainty, Maverick was apologizing to her. She never expected him to say sorry so easily. As much as things were awkward between them. She too wanted to apologize for being so rude. He was older than her and deserved some respect on her part but how on Earth was she to ignore the feeling she got from him. His gaze made her feel something strongly. Something she only felt for one man which was why she decided to keep her distance from the doctor

“It wasn’t right and very unprofessional of me to act the way I did… Ms. Crawley, find it in your heart to forgive me,” Maverick said softly after some time and Alexis was even more guilty…hearing his soft low yet the deep masculine voice was something she preferred not to think about.

Maverick knew apologizing to her was a good start. He didn’t know where to begin to explain himself when the woman before her was the same girl he thought he didn’t wan
