Chapter 22
It wasn’t even the smell of that guy’s cigarette, although heaven knew they were an acquired taste. No, this had to be the start of morning sickness, and if she needed any further confirmation of her condition, this was it.
A tentative tapping at the door roused her. “Sasha? Sasha, are you all right?” Naturally, it was Tilly. “Is something wrong?”
Everything was wrong, thought Sasha heavily, struggling to pull herself together. But she managed to say, “No, I’m OK, Tilly. I think I must have eaten something that disagreed with me and when I smelled that guy’s cigarette—”
“Oh damn!” Tilly sounded disgusted, “I knew that was it. I hated the smell too”
Sasha opened the door to find Tilly waiting outside, wringing her hands anxiously. “Sorry about that.” Tilly said something Sasha couldn’t understand and then wrapped her arm about her shoulders. “Sorry” she murmured with evident concern. “Are you sure you are going to be alright?”
