I had been soundly asleep when I was startled awake by a series of loud knocks on the door. After yawning and stretching my limbs, I got up and put on my robe before opening the door.

Maria, who was smiling and holding a tray in her hands, was standing at the doorway of the room. As soon as she saw me, she lifted the tray just a little bit to show that the food for my breakfast is ready.

''Thank you, Maria…'' I couldn't help but crack a grin as I took the tray from her hands. ''Would you like to come and join me?''

She gave a friendly smile and waved her hand in a 'no' gesture, then rubbed her tummy indicating that she had finished her breakfast.

''Okay… I said with a thumbs up. ''Thank you…''

She bowed her head respectfully before leaving while waving goodbye to me.
