Crystal looked taken in the police presence, and despite her aches, pains, and humiliation, she couldn’t help but smile.

I need everyone to put their hands in the air. My officers will come around, cuff you individually, read your rights, and lead you into one of the vans waiting outside. If you cooperate, we will go easy on you. If you resist, you will regret it.”
