Lyra’s POV
“But we didn’t bring any clothes,” I reminded him, blinking as the words tumbled out. Alistair had blindsided me with this getaway—only letting me know we were taking a trip after we landed.
He lifted a small, plain cardboard box toward me with a confident smile. “That’s already sorted.”
I hesitated, glancing between him and the package before taking it. Inside was a delicate paper bag bearing a single matching set of panties. Heat rushed to my cheeks, and I pressed my lips together as I stared down at the lacy pink fabric.
“How did you know my size?” I asked, meeting his amused gaze. True, we’d been together before, but it seemed unlikely he’d memorized my exact measurements.
He shrugged casually, the corner of his mouth lifting in a grin. “I just know. Maybe it’s because our destinies are intertwined.”
My face burned hotter. I hadn’t expected that line, and I looked away, cheeks flaming. “I’ll go take a bath.”
