I came down the stairs like a man possessed.
The phone was pressed to my ear. My voice already loud, sharp and fucking angry, my blood still hot from last night. I hadn’t slept. I’d barely fucking breathed.
“Listen to me and listen well,” I growled into the line, low and pissed. “If the council room isn’t secured before I get there, I’m going to start cutting off fingers and feeding them to the dogs. One for every minute I wait. Do you understand me, Micah?”
