Seeing their cozy relationship, Carol was filled with anger and regret.
Brian had had enough of all the friendliness and warmth and interrupted them flatly, “That’s enough. Sybil, isn’t it time for you to rest?”
“Come on, Brian! You are better than this! Are you even jealous of me?” Sybil hit back.
“Excuse me?!”
Brian flushed and got a little exasperated, gruffly replying, “What do you mean ‘jealous of you’? You watch your tongue, Sybil!”
Sybil had expected her brother’s response. “Just kidding. Don’t take it so seriously,” she replied with a chuckle.
“It’s not funny.”
“Whatever you say.”
