Ken’s POV

Mirabelle has occupied my thoughts for the past two days. In my dreams, she was there, and while awake, her voice seemed to echo all around me.

I miss her!

When I called Father last night to tell him about Noah, he didn’t seem particularly angry about what had happened. Instead, he was more focused on seeing his dear son, Noah Sylvester, for the first time in five years.

Taking a deep breath, I got up from the side of my bed and walked to the table.

For reasons I couldn’t explain, a voice in my head urged me to call Noah. I needed to state my claim to let him know I was now his competition and that I was willing to go to great lengths to win Mirabelle back.

I quickly grabbed my phone from the table and dialed Noah’s number, holding onto a thread of hope that it was still in use.

Fortunately, the line rang, and my next prayer was that he would pick up.
