Gabriella's eyebrows automatically conveyed curiosity. "Why would you say that?"

“I've been taking care of Mr. Max since he was little, Miss. So, I know very well what kind of person he is. You don't have to worry about being his wife."

Gabriella was silent. She didn't know how to respond.

“Actually, I'm grateful that Mr. Max chose you. I really hope your presence can cheer him up. He has suffered too long alone."

Confusion tilted Gabriella's head in a sudden. "Suffer?"
