Chapter 5. The Attack

With bold steps, Gabriella made her way up the stairs. She was so focused, so she didn't even have time to check the photos on several sides of the room.

"Whoever the CEO is, he has no right to just destroy my house."

Finding the open door, Gabriella paused. After wiping her face and taking a deep breath, she nodded forcefully.

"I can't look weak."

A second later, she stomped her feet into the room. Her eyes widened when she found a bed. The girl just realized that she had come into a man's bedroom.

"Is this really a trap?" Gabriella thought as she blinked. The dizziness just hit her head.

“Welcome, Miss Gabriella,” a man greeted from the corner of the room. The girl immediately turned to the right.

"You ...?"

Gabriella's forefinger went up while her mouth fell open in disbelief.

"You're the CEO of Quebracha?"

Max stuck his hand in the trouser pocket and took a leisurely stride.

“There's no need to pretend to be surprised, Miss. Don't you already know who I am?"

An irritated smile appeared on Gabriella's face.

"Oh, I understand now. You destroyed my house because you were upset, because you felt humiliated, and because I was signing autographs carelessly."

Max folded his arms across his chest and raised an eyebrow. "Well, you seem like a really great actress, don't you think? I almost got fooled by your acting."

"What do you mean?" Gabriella asked incredulously.

“Tsk, it looks like the potion hasn't reacted yet. I should have given her three glasses,” Max muttered while scratching his temple.

"Ah, well .... Let's just follow your game. How much do you want?"

Gabriella's face frowned spontaneously. "You think my house can be replaced with money?"

Max nodded proudly. "Of course. Isn't that what you're after? Otherwise, there's no way you could have bothered to come here and pretend to be angry like this."

Gabriella's chest burned at the CEO's words. Her breath was now racing while her lips began to tremble in anger.

"You think I'm pretending?" Tears began to gather without warning. "Do you know what that house means to me? It is a legacy from my parents. All our memories are there, and now, you have destroyed them all."

Gabriella closed her eyes for the sadness and outrage had put a lot of pressure on her brain.

"That house is my life. You destroy it, you destroy my life. Do you still think that my anger is fake?"

Max scratched his earlobe which didn't itch. The tears on Gabriella's red face seemed so real. He wanted to applaud her successful acting.

"Then, what should I do now? You want me to rebuild the house? Maybe ... the bricks can be re-cemented. Wood and planks can be joined with nails. Or, your favorite glass can also be glued. A thousand cracks won't be a problem, right?”

Gabriella's ferocity had no place to peak. A second later, the girl attacked the CEO with her long fingers and blunt nails.

“You really have no heart! Instead of apologizing, you insulted my house and my memories?"

Gabriella grabbed Max's hair brutally. Even though he was grimacing, the man was still able to stand up straight. His hands did not hesitate to grip the girl's wrist and freeze the attack.

"What am I sorry for? I'm not guilty."

Gabriella's annoyed chuckle rang out.

"You're innocent? You think I believe it? Aren't you the one who gave me threat? Do you forget?" the girl protested as she jerked her hand.

“That was just a saying. It wasn't me who destroyed your house."

Gabriella started jumping up and down, adding strength to the pull, but the CEO still gripped her wrists.

"Let go! I don't want to be touched by a cruel bragger like you!”

“Did you just accuse me of bragging?"

Max twisted Gabriella and locked her from behind. With arms crossed over her chest, the girl could do nothing but jump up and down. Even though her head hit the man's chin several times and the dizziness blew her eyes even more, she still struggled as best she could.

"Let go!"

"Enough!" Max started to get overwhelmed by the madness of his guest.

"Let go ...!"

The CEO could no longer be patient. With his much greater strength, he dragged the girl onto the bed, then crushed her like a cop catching a criminal.

"Akh!" Gabriella groaned as a huge explosion struck her head. Not because of a collision with the mattress, but because of something stirring her stomach.

"Hueek ... hueek ...."

Max's eyes widened spontaneously. "Are you going to throw up?"

"Hueek ..."

"Not here!"

Max took his guest to the bathroom. He shuddered as he watched Gabriella vomit out of the toilet.

"It's a right choice I gave her two glasses," Max spoke to himself.

After washing her mouth in the sink, Gabriella looked down and caught her breath for a moment. After that, she turned around to reveal her pale lips and red cheeks to the CEO. There were no more words from her mouth.

"Do you want to attack me again?" Max challenged as Gabriella staggered toward him.

Miraculously, the girl shook her head and walked past him.

"Hm? Has the honesty potion reacted?"

Max chased after Gabriella and grabbed her arm. "Hey, what do you really want?"

With her eyelids half open, the girl looked at Max.

"Home."

“Oh, you want a big house or a fancy one? Take it easy. But, tell me ... who told you to oppose the Quebracha project?"

Gabriella shook her head weakly and repeated the same words, "Home."

Max's forehead frowned unhappily. "What does it mean?"

"Home."

A second later, Gabriella's leg lost its strength. If the CEO didn't catch her, she would have fallen on the floor.

"Ah, I should have given this girl one glass," Max regretted as he carried the girl and laid her on the bed.

Standing up and pinching his chin, the man observed Gabriella's appearance. Messy hair, pale lips, and dirty dress. The girl was totally messed up.
