Chapter 40. The Hunter Becomes the Prey

The man wrapped his arms around her waist and carried her onto the bed.

Her warm and soft body made Ethan’s heart unprecedentedly peaceful and warm. This was a warmth that he had never felt before, just like a ray of light from the moon amid a dark night.

There were no classes the next day. It was noon by the time Annetta got up, and Ethan had already gone to the company.

Because she had greeted Ethan yesterday, Ethan did not come looking for her at noon.

Annetta took a shower before going downstairs for lunch. Bettina was already waiting at the dining table. She looked slightly anxious and glanced at her watch from time to time.

Her eyes lit up when she saw Annetta leisurely come down the stairs. “Miss, you’re awake!”

Annetta responded with a grunt and walked to the table. Then, she slowly started having lunch. She even politely invited Bettina to join her.

Bettina shook her head and said with a fake smile, “No need, Miss. Enjoy your lunch.
