Lucia pushed the button and the magazine dropped into her hand. "There's still the bullet in the barrel. It won't come out until I pull the slide back." She demonstrated and the bullet flew out to the right of the gun. She loaded it back into the magazine. "Normally, I don't catch the empty magazine when I'm dumping it from the weapon. It's useless to me. I didn't want to drop one with bullets in it. When you practice, you drop the empty one on the ground and stick a new one in. Getting more bullets into the gun should be your highest priority."

She released the slide, then slammed the magazine back in. "To fire, pull the slide back and it will put a bullet in the chamber and will be a fully loaded gun, ready to fire. Do not carry it around with your finger in the trigger. Do not point it at anyone unless you intend to shoot them. Treat a gun with the respect it deserves."
