Chapter 23
Chenzo’s POV
I set up my desk after signing some of the paperwork that needed approval. It was too early to go home, but I really wanted to leave my office since I knew Mara would come soon and I didn’t want to face her. She was so annoying.
Yes, she was my fiancée, but I didn’t consider her one.
Dad and her father were business partners, and they thought they could use our marriage—if it happened—for the company’s benefit, which was bullshit for me. I sighed and massaged my head. I was ready to go when my office door swung open and the person I wanted to see least came in.
“Chenzo, why aren’t you answering my calls?” Mara asked as soon as she closed the door.
I looked at her indifferently and chuckled sarcastically. “Answering your calls isn’t my responsibility, is it?”
“Never mind, babe.” She smiled and sat at the table. “Come on, let’s get some lunch, I’m dying of hunger.”
“You go alone, I’m full.” I quickly refused as I stood up
