I stopped dead in my tracks before I turned to face Caroline, my brows furrowing, trying to understand. The truth was, hearing Caroline say it out loud made the unease in my gut grow tenfold. It was the same sensation I was having, and I was pretty sure that I wasn’t the only one, but having the words being spoken out loud felt…disturbing, in certain ways that I couldn’t explain.

I swallowed hard, trying to keep my thoughts from spiraling. “It’s possible,” I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt. “Maybe it’s because we’re both feeling it. Maybe it means we’re getting close to where Aurora is. After all, we’re the only ones in the pack who have remotely any connection to her, so maybe…we’re feeling what she is feeling?
