Chapter 37
Nothing gave him thrill like hunting alone, and that the hunt had a reason was just satisfactory, like the reason for the stench filling the car as he rolled into the Bratva's domain.
Although the rage hadn't yet subsided, especially when the thought that if he was a few more minutes late, something would have happened to her had his hands tightened around the steering wheel harder than was needed.
It was her voice, filtering from the speaker, that had him temporarily paralyzed, unable to move for seconds, but then, like everything that had to do with her, the next minute, had him jumping into the car on a highway to either hell or her.
He reached her, yet the anxiety of what might have occurred continued to strike him unexpectedly.
