Chapter 10

Hazel's POV

What did the Alpha just say? Live under his roof? As what? Did I hear him well, or was I hearing him wrong? I had to be sure it wasn’t my hearing that was faulty.

"What did you say?"

"Don’t make me repeat myself." He replied as if he too wasn’t pleased by what he’d just said and was trying to figure out why he’d let himself agree to such a decision.

But why? I didn’t have anything to offer, or was this a plot just so I could stay by him and find a way to cure him?

I didn’t know why, but that idea and the possibility of it wounded my pride and caused anger to rise. I wasn’t going to live under one roof with such an arrogant, ruthless Alpha who wants nothing more than to see life being snuffed out by me so he could get cured of a curse I didn’t even know how to cure or what had caused it.

He might be the Alpha and the one with the power here, but this was my life; I wasn’t going to let it be decided by a wolf lord.
