Chapter 91
All the moments after the Major's confession and the explosion of the grenades were a blur on my head. I have the vague memory of the Baron shooter holding me by one of his arms and trying to get me up, because the rubble of the wall fell on my leg. I remember him carrying me on his shoulders, but being surprised by a real chaos outside the Major's residence. The whole world darkened, and the sounds disappeared, so my head buzzed.
The next memory I have is being in a hospital, with one of my legs bandaged and my vision still blurred. I remember talking to a nurse, but I must have said something too meaningless, because she made an expression of confusion and quickly walked away. A man appeared and the world swirled again. At some point inside that hospital, I heard people saying that the Colonel was in the city, and I was waiting for any improvement on my part.
