Zayne exhaled slowly.
Then he stood.
Everyone instantly straightened.
“We need your final decision,” Bael said. “We can’t move forward without—”
Zayne cut him off.
“I’ll handle it later.”
Venom frowned and folded her hands.
“Later? We’re hemorrhaging money.”
Zayne turned his eyes to her—cold, empty, dead calm.
“Everything can wait. I have something important to attend to,” he said.
The room went silent.
“But my lord, what could possibly be more important than six million losses?”
Bael asked.
The oxygen left the room.
Zayne gave him a look—not even a glare—and Bael’s entire face drained of life.
“Do you want to die today?” Zayne asked calmly.
“Or are you simply stupid?”
Bael stammered, “N-No, sir— I apologize— I—”
“Speak out of turn again,” Zayne said quietly, “and I’ll remove your tongue right here.”
