Chapter 48. Don’t You Dare
CLINT'S POV
I did my last set of reps with the barbells and put them back in place. I pushed myself into a sitting position and heaved heavily as sweat trickled down my face.
Coming to the gym was sort of a coping mechanism for me. It helped me relieve stress and take my mind off everything. With my ex-wife breathing down my neck, my stress levels were high.
I would often find myself overthinking and that led to sleepless nights, which made me sleep-deprived. I pushed myself up from the bench and picked up a bottle of water, chugging down the contents.
Being sleep deprived was something I detested. It lowered my performance at work and increased my stress even more. I sighed and looked at the large mirror right in front of me.
My hair was a bit messy, and I noticed that the hairs on my chin had started sprouting out again. I needed a shave. I disposed of the plastic can of water and picked up my bag.
