My eyes were wide as I looked for possible escape routes. I couldn't run out of the apartment because he was closer to the door than I was. Even if I did manage to run out the door, he'd catch me in seconds.

I looked to the side. There was the bathroom. I could always lock myself inside and wait him out, right?

Not having much time to think since he was getting closer and closer, I made a run for it.

Well, not literally so people wouldn't be suspicious, but I started speed-walking, bumping into bodies on the way, barely getting an apology out of my mouth before I had to apologize to the next.

I wrenched open the first door I saw, which happened to be Cathy's room. I couldn't believe Alessandro would come here of all places. He could've cornered me when I went to school or when I dropped by my apartment for something. Hell, he could've come after me when I was going job hunting, but no.
