In my twenty-three — almost twenty-four — years of life, I was certain I'd apologized to only two people; my Madre and my Padre.
I didn't even get to apologize to them much because I didn't give them headaches while growing up. I almost always listened to them, except when it came to training which I didn't take seriously until they were killed by the Lucianos. Then, I had to clean up my act even if there wasn't much to clean, and up my game.
The word, 'sorry', barely left my mouth. If it did, I was most likely mocking a person before putting a bullet in their eyes or emptying my gun into their skull, but the guilt of putting Jordan in a situation like that was so huge, that I found myself repeatedly apologizing to her and asking her to forgive me.
