Summer’s POV

After Senior Carter had left to rest, I walked over to Steven, who was sitting on the sofa next to Stefani, watching... SpongeBob.

In my wildest dreams, I never imagined seeing Steven in this light. He appeared less like a ruthless husband and businessman, and more like a loving father who cherished spending quality time with his children.

Although I didn’t intend to spoil their moment, I inadvertently blocked their view by standing in front of the television. They both gave me a quizzical look, which perfectly exemplified the typical Carter father-daughter dynamic.
