Chapter 109

June's POV

Zed spent the next few days finding his rhythm with cooking again, while I got back to work on my videos. He started his new job, and we attended the pack dinners every night. I would even go without him when he was working—though we drew the line at having the pack inside our house. We were still getting used to each other, and my wolf was pretty territorial.

The next month went by quickly. We spent at least a couple of hours together every day, grocery shopping, or cooking, and always eating. Sometimes we watched a movie or went out to try a new restaurant, but we both liked to stay in (I was a little obsessed with the way it felt to have a home).

I changed the topic or pulled away every time things started getting steamy, and Zed let me, though I could tell he was starting to get suspicious about it.

At the end of the fifth week of me avoiding sex (but still getting to know Zed), we finished frosting a cake together and sat down to eat it.
