I burst into the room, Alexander right behind me. My heart stalls at the sight before me.
Victoria is crouched on the floor, one arm clutched tightly around the twins, the other pressed against Aurora’s side, soaked in blood. Her face is streaked with tears, her lips trembling. And then I see her—Aurora.
She’s lying in it. Blood. So much of it.
“Aurora!” The word tears from my throat as I rush in, my knees hitting the floor as I pull her limp body into my arms.
Behind me, Alexander is already dropping to his knees beside Victoria, his arms outstretched for the children. Scarlett clings to him. Sterling is too stunned to move.
Victoria’s voice cuts through the chaos, thin and breaking.
“Isabel,” she chokes out, lifting a trembling hand toward the half-open door. “Please… please save Isabel…”
The desperation in her voice punches me in the gut.
I look up at Alexander. Our eyes lock. He knows.
“I’ve got things here,” I tell
