Chapter 51. Shield

Victoria’s POV

“There you are, Victoria.” Dominic spoke. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”

Dominic’s arrival was perfectly timed. He strode toward us, his presence commanding and magnetic, and I felt a rush of relief wash over me immediately.

“Dominic,” I said, allowing a smile to soften my features.

His eyes swept over me quickly before offering me his arm which I graciously took. His expression was unreadable as he turned to Ethan and Lily. “I see you’ve been catching up with Victoria.”

Lily chuckled, a sound that was just as bitter as she was. Her gaze remained fixed on mine but she said nothing.

“Of course,” Ethan responded, his tone almost cold and possessive. The look in his eyes was clearly trying to remind Dominic that he had known me first “It’s always a pleasure to see old friends.”

Dominic smirked, his tone cool. “Friends? You treat all your friends with such regards?”

The subtle reprimand hung in the air, and I
