Chapter 630. Talent of Mine

My eyes lock on the painting hanging in front of me. I try to focus on the details of it, the colors, the symbols, the people. It doesn't work.

"The bath's ready!" Lexcis calls out from the bedroom.

I close my eyes and focus on my breathing.

It only makes me breathe faster. More irregularly. I hastily get up from the chair, starting to pace around the room as I wiggle my hands in an attempt to stop this. I can feel my heart beating in my ears while I shakily exhale.

I need fresh air. I need to get out of here.

"I'll be right back." I manage to get that sentence out before I run out of the room. I'm hyperventilating like crazy so I don't get far. I round the corner and clutch onto the door handle, trying not to fall over.

There's only one thing I can focus on and that's this obnoxious feeling of impending doom.
