I'm even more surprised when I hear myself say, "Lexcis." I call out softly, and he hears me. Reluctantly, he pulls himself away from Dracio, his expression clouded with tension.
"Don't tell me that you forgive-" I pause, watching the emotions flicker across his face.
"No," I shake my head instantly. "No, but I don't want you to kill him." I sigh, holding onto his hand tightly as if grounding myself. "I hate him for everything, but I want answers, and he's finally willing to give them. Veronica and Zave deserve those answers too. Our previous conversations led to nothing, but he's truthful now."
Lexcis is clearly upset about my decision. "Angel, I know. I know that you want to protect our daughter. I know that. But I need this. After that, you can kill him, send him away, or do whatever. I don't care." He clenches his fists, his frustration palpable.<
