By the time I'm done removing my clothes, Jack arrives with an upset face, like someone who has just been made unhappy. I stare at him with wide shock. I walk towards him with the aim of consoling him. I drape my hand round his shoulders, looking straight and deep into his eyes.

"Sweetheart, what's going on?" I've not been used to calling him sweet names but I can't help at this point. I'm looking for anything to do which will make him happy, something which will ease his pains. I'm sure it's still because of Jeff's case.
